Leicester City have launched a third bid for Big Wes

Posted by Sudders on 27/01/2012 13:46:52

It seems with Wes asking permission to speak to Leicester, this has prompted them to making a third bid for him (reportedly around £800k). I think it's a sorry sight to see Forest's longest serving player leave for such a pittance. I know he'll be free at the end of the season, but who are we supposed to get in to replace him when we're already short of defenders??

I've never seen such a rapid decline in a stable, successful club in such a short space of time. The heart and soul has been ripped out of our football club and unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it. What would the great man Mr Clough think of all this?

It is now on the Forest website that they are accepting that Leicester can talk to Wes - so looks like the deal is done.

If we are not going to match his worth in contract talks at the end of the season then he should go. We can use the money to get replacements in to avoid relegation and then rebuild the team at a much lower budget. Thats what we have sunk to.

I wish Wes all the best in what ever his decision is, hope he choes to stay as he will be missed. I do not agree with testimonials with what players get paid these days but Wes is one that I would have gone to. He has always put Forest first.

Nice 1 at last a step in the right direction. Out with the old and in with the new. Morgan just like most of the players time is up. They have to go and the only way up is by bringing in new, fresh faces. Young and hungry and wanted to win.

I do wish Wes all the best ( unlike half the other clowns when they finally go ), if he goes to Leicester then so be it, i for 1 dont have a problem with that. Hopefully this is the start of things to come.

Cotterill does have to be carefull though and make sure we have enough to stay in the devision, then in the summer get rid of whats left and build from scratch!

I do agree with what you're saying higgy about the 'out with the old in with the new' but I also think its a poor way to lose our longest ever serving player. I don't care if he's going to Leicester, it's Derby we hate, so I wish him all the best as you do.. However, you have to ask questions to the people who run this club, why has it took this long to offer a new contract, why not tie him up at the start of the season? Had he had 2 years left on his contract he'd not be going anywhere. If Wes goes, we have no experienced centre half left. this is a big worry. I agree with the new players coming in but there needs to be a transition where they at least play alongside the experienced centre halves for a little bit. I hear good things about this Laccielles guy, but we've never seen him in the first team. We may as well get rid of all the overpaid muppets and start off by chucking in the whole youth team like we did under harty. Also heard that Marlon is on a £7k a week wage! what a fucking waste of money when we have a young patrick Bamford who is hungry and scoring goals for fun in the youth team!

Defo agree with bringing in the youth i would have Bamford than Marlon the moran any day. Am just hoping we will have enough to stay in the division. I think these young lads should get a little taste in games and ge them ready for next season.

Next season i dont want to see the following in a Forest shirt:

Greening, Boatang, Harewood, Reid for definate. I could name but am not ready for a big debate just yet

If we don't stay in the division we're screwed for a long time. Took us three years to get out when we had money. We need to be building for next season but we need to do enough to avoid the drop too. I'd certianly be getting Lascelles and Bamford time on the field but I'd be wary that it might be a big step up for them. Still - right now, what have we got to lose?

Posted by higgy on 29/01/2012 14:29:35

Get them in and fuck of the greedy overpaid wankers. I cant believe av even given me Derby ticket up. This would of been me 8th time and the only times av missed going there is due to other big commitments.

Am struggling going to watch them coz i can stand half of are team. I know you should support the club and not the players at times but them players i mentioned the other day i cant fucking stand them, they annoy me so much. Rumour i heard was Reid is on around £20k a week. Am sorry but am not paying his wages.

I would love to see these young promising lads given the chance.

Canada Red asks what have we got lose the answer is nothing! These over paid idiots are more than capable of taking us down, so come on Cotterill lets get them in there.
