Leeds game, started so brightly but a point is a point

Posted by Sudders on 16/08/2010 12:28:10

After the first 25 minutes of yesterday's game, I thought we were really going to get our campaign up and running, and could have easily been 3 up! However we didn't seem to make the most of the early pressure. We seemed to ease our foot off the gas and as a result let Leeds back into the game.

This result is  by no means a disaster! In the end I was happy to hang on to a point. However I do feel we need to win games like this if we're going to be serious promotion contenders.

Very early days yet, and if we can keep the same performance against Burnley and the first 25 minutes of yesterday's game, we'll be sure to get the results.

I do feel we need to learn how to hang onto slender leads maybe where experienced heads are lacking.

Let's hope this week sees a couple of new players come in and lets go and get 3 points against Reading on Saturday!

Your thoughts please?

A very average performance nowhere near good enough. To those who went the game yeaterday did the home fans actually sing a song? Could only hear the Leeds fans taking the piss out of are support all game. I no home games are always abit quiet but never have i known it to be like that. Fortunately for us its the weakest Championship for many of years with no big favourite so that should keep us there or there abouts. The team that started yesterday is good enough to push but we need to start winning games soon.

I know what you mean about the atmosphere higgy, it started off electric, Forest fans did seem to give it a lot! However as usual it appeared to die off when Leeds got back into the game. It's difficult to say, yes the home crowd is quiet at the best of times, however don't you think the players need to give the fans something to cheer about sometimes? It was real hard work in the second half to get any enthusiasm as it seemed like Forest had no chance of getting back into it.

I dont' think the side is good enough to win the league as it is. I think we need at least a couple of new additions and then we might be up there. However i really don't think it's time to panic, we'll be another play off side if the performances stay the same as this. The results will eventually come!
